The Gullah: Llaila's slave ancestors were from Sea Islands, then sold out of Charleston, South Carolina to Virginia. His parents and grandparents eventually migrated from Virginia to Baltimore for work. He lives on a Sea Island and has conducted Black History Tours of the Islands for over 10 years.
